Why a departure checklist saves the trip

Car seat expiration dates matter

Every car seat has a manufacture date and an expiration date printed on the shell or a label on the base. Using an expired seat is not a minor technicality: materials degrade and the seat may no longer perform as tested in a crash. Check the dates before any trip, and if the seat is expired, replace it before you leave.

Passport validity rules vary by destination

Many countries require a passport to be valid for six months beyond your intended return date. A passport that is technically unexpired may still get you turned away at a border or airline check-in. After the walkthrough
